Dr Nandipha Magudumana is a South African medical doctor and Businesswoman. She was born in Bizana, a small town in Eastern Cape but raised in Port Edward KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Dr Nandipha since the age of six has wanted to be a doctor. After finishing her high school she studied for medicine at the University of Witswaterstrand where she obtained a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in Biomedical Sciences, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
Her Boyfriend Thabo Bester whose supposed real name is TK Nkwana is the co accused who is filthy rich. His real name is not known and Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi could not confirm his identity. He used lot of names to lure young women on Facebook, some of them he also raped which made him to be called Facebook rapist. [1]
The purpose of the fake names
Thabo Bester used different names to do different activities such as luring young women, pushing different businesses while in prison and even enjoying lavish lifestyle with Dr Magudumana while in prison. The Sunday Times said that while Magudumana was incarcerated and in the months leading up to his escape, Bester and him went on “getaways” together.
The pair used the name “TK Nkwana” while staying at the Tredenham Boutique Hotel in Bloemfontein for five nights in March 2022 and once more for one night in April. In 2011 Cape Town salon owner Nomaxabiso Xhotyeni told Sunday Times Bester introduced himself as “Thomas K Bester”, CEO of TV channel MTV Base, when he walked into her hair salon which is called Table View salon.
Motsoaledi said Bester was using an American passport with the name “Tommy William Kelly”. According to the minister, Thabo never used his American passport at any point of entry. Bester had other names which he used for different purposes including Robert, Thomas Kelly Young, Tommy William Kelly, Thomas Magagula, Thabo Magagula and Rufus Mahopo.

These businesses include a multi-million rand scam business while serving a life sentence for rape and murder at Mangaung Correctional Centre. This company which is now in Sandton, Johannesburg, has also made millions of rands for the doctor.
Dr Nandipha and Thabo Bester owns a mansion in a beautiful urban area of Hyde Park in Johannesburg. According to “The South African” the house is rented for R70 000 per month and itself has a market value of R12 million.
Dr Nandipha owns Porsche Cayenne which is worth R 3.9 million and a Range Rover with an estimated value of R4 million. The two also had debt on a Mercedes Benz which they used to escape to Zimbabwe. The car was owing R700 000 from a car dealership. Recently Thabo Bester revealed that he had Rolex watches and other gadgets worth R29 million stolen from him during his arrest. [3]
His legal representative Kabelo Matee told the court that there were missing items belonging to Bester that are yet to be recovered. These items include iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPad, Samsung S23, FM watch, Rolex Watches, C watch, Patek Philippe Watch, just to name a few. All these gadgets and the ones we couldn’t mention plus the foreign currency were worth about R29 million. Their total network combined approximately R50 million, which is between $2.5 million to $4 million US dollars.
