Early life

Buthelezi was born on the 7 of April 1982 she is 42 years old as of 2024. She was born in Alexandra, Gauteng Province in South Africa. She was born to Vesi and Magdalene her parents. Nomsa had two brothers Tony and Moses. Moses died in July 2021 and the cause of death is unknown. Nothing much is known about how she grew up but this is all we have for now. [1]

Nomsa went to primary school and completed it in Alexandra. She then moved to high school and completed it at the age of 16 years old. She then went to COSAC drama academy for two years.  This is all we have about her educational background  there is no much information.

Nomsa was married to Unathi Ndondzwana before her current partner. Her previous husband died in 2013 from stroke related issues. She is married to a woman named Zandile Shezi, she’s a lesbian. They celebrated their wedding on the 28 of September 2019. The ceremony was  celebrated in Alexandra,  Johannesburg,  Gauteng Province in South Africa. Career of Nomsa Buthelezi

Buthelezi started in theatre for a while before entering television. From 2008 to 2009 she played the role of Female Metro police officer in Vodacom Summer Loving commercial.  She joined the SABC 1 sitcom Abo Mzala, portraying the  role  of  Thandi until end of third season. Nomsa appeared  in Mzansi magic sitcom Samsokolo playing the role of Dudu. She acted Vuzu sitcom Check Coast in 2014 and Awelani in the SABC 2 soapie Muvhango.

She played the role of Ma Mnisi  in Mzansi magic soap opera Isibaya season 0ne in 2013. She became famous with the role and played it for seven years until 2020. She was the presenter on Our Perfect Wedding   from  season 7 to 11 in the year 2017. She portrayed Slender in mzansi magic prison drama, Lockdown until 2019. She joined Generations The Legacy, as Boipelo after the serial.

Awards

She won the award  for Best Supporting  Actress in TV Comedy  category at the South African Film and  Television Awards.

Nomsa is currently married to Zandile Shezi, a physiotherapist practicing in Ladysmith. They have been married from 2019. Zandile said they went through tough moments during the lobola negotiations as the family demanded a lot. She said eventually they reached to the same level.

The met at the wedding of Riah and Simphiwe’s wedding through love at first sight. They said they all noticed each other and realized they are fit together. Her parents stood by her and showed her the love and support she needed. Even though her father noticed something when she was young he waited for the right time for the truth to be revealed. [3]
