Early life
Benedict, the daughter of a retired teacher and a doctor, was born in Pretoria, Gauteng, on February 10, 1981. Abel Benedict and Nkoni are her two siblings. Benedict began acting after receiving her degree from Pretoria Technikon, now known as Tshwane University of Technology. [1]

Benedict received his diploma from Michael Howard Studios in New York in 2007. She used to spend her time in libraries while attending college. Benedict participated in a number of school plays and stage shows while attending the school, such as “Anais Nin Goes To Hell” and “Does Anyone Know Sarah Paisner”
Acting Career
Following her college graduation in 2007, she was cast in 7de Laan. She played the part of Lebo in this, her debut television programme.
Together with Renate Stuurman and Elma Postma, Benedict starred as Grace Molele in the drama series The Mating Game on SABC 2. It was based on the real-life experiences of three women who were juggling friendship, love, and parenting. She was cast in the M-Net/kykNET soap opera Binnelanders (then known as Binneland Sub Judice) from April 2010 until April 2011.

She debuted on SABC1’s iconic serial opera Generations on October 12, 2011, where she portrayed Akhona Memela Miya. Benedict received critical acclaim and broad recognition for the part. With over 7 million viewers every episode, the soap opera had rapid success in the ratings, and Benedict quickly won over the audience. Benedict and fifteen other actors were fired in 2014 for going on strike (in protest of their pay) and not showing up for work by the producer’s deadline. The actors (Generations 16) filed lawsuits after Mfundi Vundla, the executive producer of Generations, fired them from the show and ended their contracts. [2]
