The actor who was known on SABC2 soapie Muvhango as Ndalamo Mukwevho from May 2006 to November 2008 died in July 2021. He also appeared in other television shows including Generations, Jacob’s Cross, 7de Laan and The Queen. In films, he starred in five movies including “Who I Am Not”, “Happiness Is a Four-letter Word”, “Three Stops” and “Little One” to name a few.  Mutodi died at the age of 46 after battling Covid-19 related illnesses. The South African actor Luzuko Nteleko also died in June 2021 and Mzansi was completely shocked. He was known for starring in television serials such as Mfolozi Street, Zone 14, Streets of Mangaung, Gauteng Maboneng and Muvhango. On Muvhango he portrayed the role of Lwazi which he played for one season. Luzuko died at the age of 37 from brain cancer in 2021 which he was battling since it was diagnosed in 2019 in its 4th stage.

Number 3 is Candy Moloi died at the age of 67 in 2020 from cancer

Cand Moloi who was known as Vho-Makhadzi in the SABC 2 soapie Muvhango died in July 2020 after a long battle with cancer. She was known for being an actor, radio producer and businesswoman. According to those who knew her personally, Candy was full of life and was a generous person who opened doors of success for others. On television, Candy was known for Thola, Shakespeare in Mzansi and Death of a Queen.

The veteran actor Allen Booi died in 2020 at the age of 77 from mild heart attack in Johannesburg. He was known for drama serials such as Tsha Tsha, Isidingo, Muvhango and The Queen. In July 2020, before his death, he was scheduled to go and start shooting for a role in an unmentioned film. He played a guest star on Muvhango for one season. [2]

Lindiwe Chibi was an actress who was known for portraying the role of Doobsie in Muvhango. On 30 April 2005, her boyfriend Dan Mokoena shot her in the face at the home of Chibi’s mother. She was rushed to the hospital where she stayed in a coma for three weeks but recovered from a coma with a paralyzed right side of her body. She died in 2007 from pneumonia at Chris Hani-Baragwanathi Hospital in Soweto.

Samson Ramabulana was a well-known radio actor, Muvhango actor and educator. He was known for playing the role of Vho-Nenzhelele or Mr Sampson in Tshivenda soapie Muvhango. Samson was a big brother of Mr Kingsley Ramabulana who is also an actor in Muvhango. He died in 2019 from an unknown illness.

A woman known for being an actor and a mother to Somizi, Mary Twala died in 2020 from an unmentioned illness. Most people remembered her as one of the greatest actresses to come from South African. She starred in local drama serials such as Scandal, Muvhango, Imposter, Generations and Zone 14. On Muvhango she played the role of Makumalo for one season only. [3]

Arthur Mbambo was an actor well known for playing the role of Thandaza’s father Mnyamane Buthelezi in Muvhango drama series. He was hospitalized after battling a long illness which was not mentioned to the public. Arthur was known for other local dramas such as Generations, Muvhango, Mzansi, Soul Buddyz and Tshisa.
