Thuso Mbedu is a South African born actress. Born on the 8th of July 1991, Thuso Mbedu has been in the magic box for quite some time now and will finally expanding to the bigger screens. Thuso Mbedu is to appear on The underground railroads, a drama series by Amazon. The show will be exclusive to amazon. however, the audience is so big they will probably overlook the hosting exclusivity.

Most people may know her from Is’thunzi where she played the role of Winnie, a show on SABC 1 of which she was nominated for an Emmy award. Mbedu was the lead role in the show Saints and Sinners, playing Boni Khumalo. Thuso was a guest actor on Isibaya, playing Nosisa.

She also appeared on etv’s Scandal as Kitso Medupe from 2015-2017 as a supporting actor. In Snake park she was given the guest role of Khethi and from 2017 she played Ipeleng on Shuga. In 2018 she joined the big show, Generations the legacy and was a supporting actor. She played the role of Okuhle Cele. Mbedu lastly appeared on Side Dish since 2018 as Phiwe and played a leading role on the show.

Early this year, Thuso Mbedu let the world know that she was casting for a new drama series called The underground Railroads. The series is directed by the award winning Barry Jenkins. The series have a big audience waiting but will only be coming out on 14 May 2021 exclusive to Amazon Video Prime. You don’t want to miss it. The series spring from the novel The Underground Railroada by Colson Whitehead.

Underground Railroads were used as an escape for the black slaves in America back in the days. [2]A lot of slaves escaped through the underground railroads to tell the story.
