Background
Petrollena Tshuma is a Zimbabwean born and South African actress who is well known for playing Pearl Genaro on Rhythm City. She was born on 13 January 1990, to her mother and her father Raymond Tshuma. In 2014 she won AMAA Award for Best Young or Promising Actor of Good Report alongside Evelyn Galle Ansah who won AMAA Award for Best Young actor of Good Old Days: For the Love AA.[1]
Career
Petrollena Tshuma started off by joining Class Act in mid-2011, a talent search television show which is shown on SABC1. This became her first stepping stone towards success. She made it to the Top 10 finalists on the second season of the show. By November 2011, Pearl auditioned for a role on Scandal and she was chosen to act as Ruby. Ruby was an adopted teenager who was getting to know her mother Donna.
In 2013 she had starring role for an episode on the e.tv anthology series Mzansi Love: Kasi Style (“Secret Marriage”, Season 2, Episode 1). On this show she was acting as Keneiloe, who had a fake marriage to a Kenyan man and finds herself falling for him.
In 2014 she had a starring role on the fourth season of the SABC2 parliamentary drama series 90 Plein Street. And in 2016 she starred as a guest actor in an e.tv drama series Hustle and had a starring role in the third season of the SABC1 legal drama series Sokhulu & Partners as intrepid investigator Qaqamba “Q” Jezile.
In 2017, Petronella had a starring role in the e.tv drama series Harvest. And in 2018 she debuted for Tokoloshi, she then joined Rhythm city where she acts as Pearl Genaro. Petronella appeared on so many big screens like iNumber Number and OfGood Report.[2]

Petronella Tshuma has two children
Petronella Tshuma got pregnant when she was 17 years and gave birth to son, Sipho. By then she was in UK living with her father Raymond Tshuma who was working as a Chef. And she was about to enroll for a course at University when she realized she was expecting a child so she packed her bags and returned to South Africa.[3]
In 2019, Petronella Tshuma gave birth to another son, Camagu Kumkani, with an unnamed baby daddy (even though she sometimes shares his pictures on social media). Camagu is 11 years younger than Sipho her first born son. The famous Rhythm city star is looking forward to have another child, whom she said if it’s a girl she will name her Nkosazana.

Pearl Genaro as she is known on Rhythm city is a friend to Stephanie Sandows (the wife to Hungani Ndlovu).
