Early life

On July 31, 1978, Thulani Mtsweni was born in the Tsakane township, which is near Johannesburg. He comes from a modest background and is affectionately known as Kaka. In elementary school, he had a passion for theater. He was passed up for class plays since he did not speak English fluently. [1]

Thulani persisted in trying. When there was a lull, he and his would shoot advertisements. Because his aunt’s house was closer to the school, he stayed there. A friend of his told him they were in the theater one day. He asked my aunt if he might return to Tsakane because he didn’t know much about theater. Their practice location, the community hall, was nearer to his father’s home.
