Early life
Sinikiwe Nikki Kademaunga was raised in the Gandanzara district of Rusape after being born in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. Her birth deformity not having hands or knees was perceived at the time as a heavenly curse, which made it difficult for her family to accept. After her parents passed away when she was still a little child, Kademaunga was raised by her grandmother, who had a significant impact on her life. [1]

Conveniently, she lived close to St. Faith’s Primary School, where she attended. Her scholastic success was facilitated by her grandmother’s lectures on independence and self-sufficiency. Sinikiwe performed well in the Ordinary Level exams, earning three As, four Bs, and one C. At the same school, she pursued her education further and passed her Advanced Level exams with ten points. Sinikiwe’s scholastic achievement made it possible for her to enrol in the University of Cape Town’s social work programme in South Africa.
Personal life
Sinikiwe Kademaunga is wed to Gokwe native Reuben Zhiva. The Talent Village in Mabvuku served as the venue for their wedding. The couple’s love story is one of sincere support and devotion for one another. Reuben has been a rock for Sinikiwe in the face of societal prejudice and uncertainty, demonstrating that having a disability does not take away from one’s capacity for love and love in return.
The wedding of Sinikiwe and Reuben was a one-of-a-kind event that highlighted their originality and resourcefulness. They came up with a solution to trade rings because Sinikiwe lacks completely developed limbs. Reuben designed a ring in the shape of a necklace, which he put around Sinikiwe’s neck. The couple received a lot of support and gifts from friends, family, and well-wishers at their happy wedding.
