Early life

Born and raised in Pretoria, Asnath Thabang and her twin sister Millicent Mashile. The 32-year-old became well-known after playing Sthoko in Skeem Saam. When she was four years old, her mother passed away. She and her twin were raised by their grandparents because their father was in prison.

Innocent and her sister went to see her father after he was released from jail. Unfortunately, their father was slain not long after they first met him, so they never had an opportunity to get to know him well. [1]

She landed a role in one of South Africa’s most well-known soap operas, which was her big break. She played Sthoko in this Skeem Saam episode on SABC 1. Sthoko MaNtuli’s eldest daughter, Skeem Saam, is seeing Dennis, an abusive man. Innocent has had numerous career-defining experiences in solo ventures, yet this character made her a popular favourite. Thabang co-hosts the ONE Gospel programme Alpha Youth with her twin. The two have collaborated on various projects, including one for the 2013 SABC1 reality series Big Break Legacy. Additionally, they are co-founders of a theatre production business that seeks to impart acting talents to young people, particularly those from Pretoria’s underprivileged neighbourhoods.

In 2011 to raise awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Innocent and her sister developed a play.
