Early life and Education of Mabalane

On December 15, 1976, Kabelo Mabalane was born to South African parents. He is from Johannesburg, a sizable city in Gauteng, South Africa. He was born, raised, and educated in South Africa. At St. Stithians University, Kabelo Mabalane met his high school classmates and the other members of the TKZ trio. [1]

Music Career of Mabalane

The successful singles “Pantsula For Life” and “Amasheleni” were included on Kabelo’s debut studio album Everybody Watching, which was released in 2000. Within a few weeks of its release, the album sold 100,000 copies and earned platinum status. The popular singles “It’s My House” and “Ayeye” were included on his second studio album, Rebel With A Cause, which was released shortly after. With sales of 130 000 copies, the album achieved platinum status and proved to be yet another smash hit.

2003 saw Kabelo get a South African Music Award for Rebel with a Cause, his second studio album. He received the 2004 Kora Award for Best Male Artist from Southern Africa. In 2005, Kabelo and Reebok agreed to collaborate on the Bouga Luv sneaker. ?From 2006 to 2008, he participated in three Comrades Marathon runs. In 2008, he completed the race in just under ten hours. He was also featured on the cover of the August 2008 issue of Runner’s World. At the 2010 Fifa World Cup Opening Ceremony, Kabelo performed alongside his bandmates from TKZEE (Tokollo Tshabalala and Zwai Bala).

Kabelo participated actively in athletics his entire high school career. He began training for the 93 km Comrades Marathon in 2005. Kabelo has entered and finished five of the events since 2006 to date. He was selected as an Olympic Ambassador in 2008 by the South African Sports Confederation Olympics Committee (SASCOC).

The SABC2 channel in South Africa announced in April 2010 that Kabelo would host a new multi-sport and lifestyle talk programme that would air on Fridays at 21:30. On September 6, 2010, Kabelo received two honours at the 30th SAB Sports Journalist of the Year honours: Best Newcomer Overall and Best Newcomer Television Presenter.
