Early life of Brenda Ngxoli
Ngxoli was born on July 3, 1981, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. She grew up in Kalk Bay, a Cape Town suburb. She enrolled at Muizenberg in 1997. Then, in 2000, she graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BA in Theatre and a Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama.

Career summary
She began her acting career in the theatre, where she appeared in several stage plays. Including Pick Ups, I-Klips, Yes Medem, Docs Wife, and Sacred Thorns. Moreover, she appeared in the commercials “Polka” and “MTN.” She directed the stage play Through Thick and Thin at the Market Theatre in 2004. Then, in 2008, she was the only celebrity dancer to make it to season four of Strictly Come Dancing with her partner Quintus Jansen.
She made her television debut in 2005 with the SABC1 drama series Home Affairs. She played the role of “Vuyo Radebe” in the series for three years, and she was a huge success. Meanwhile, she was nominated for a SAFTA Golden Horn Award for Best Actress in a TV Drama in three consecutive years: 2006, 2007 and 2011 at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA). At the 35th International Emmy Awards in 2007, she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress once more.

In 2010, she made her film debut as “Innocence” in the first film of the Spud franchise. She reprised her role in all three films: Spud (2010), Spud 2: The Madness Continues (2013), and Spud 3: Learning to Fly (2015). (2014). She made an appearance in the television series Rockville in 2013.
Further in her career
She won the SAFTA Best Supporting Actress Award in the TV Drama category in 2015. Furthermore, she was nominated for the same award again in 2016. In 2014, she starred in the television series Ses’ Top La. For which she received SAFTA nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Comedy. In 2017, she starred in the e.tv drama serial Hustle. And was nominated for a SAFTA Award for Best Actress in a TV Drama.
Following several critically acclaimed roles. She joined the soapie iThemba in 2019 as “Nomonde.” For that role, she received the SAFTA 2020 Best Supporting Actress Award in the TV Drama category. In the series, she plays “NomaPrincess “Noma” Matshikiza.” She did, however, receive negative feedback from fans and critics for the role.
