From 2008 to 2010 Emmanuel Castis was dating singer Louise Carver. The couple separated in 2010. Thereafter, he started dating his now newly wed wife Sherlene Economou. After years of dating, the pair decided to get married. And, according to reports, the wedding was only attended by 7 family members and a marriege officer. According to News 24, the couple got their first baby together in February 2021. The same month Emmanuel was born in. The same month they got married it. Emmanuel Castis started acting in 1997 with theatre plays along with PJ Sabbagha and the Forgotten Angle Dance Theatre Company. Where he played the role ‘Lennox’ in popular play Macbeth. Then he was involved in musical theater. Meanwhile, he made his television debut with popular television soapie Isidingo in 1999.
In the serial, he played the role ‘Steve Stethakis’ which became highly popular. Moreover, in 2004, he won the people’s award for Best Actor in a television soapie. Then he appeared in the serial Erfsondes as the lead male protagonist. Furthermore, nominated twice for South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) for Best Actor in a television series. In 2008, he won the celebrity reality competition of the South African version of Dancing with the Stars.
From 2006 to present
While most of you know him for his recent TV roles. Castis is also known for his leading roles as Brent in the SABC3 dramedy One Way (2006-2007). As well as Chris Spencer in the SABC2 drama series Erfsondes. Moreover, in 2008 he won the fourth season of the reality dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing. Which aired on SABC2 from January to March. His professional dance partner was Lindsey Muckle. Furthermore, during the show he was dating fellow Strictly Come Dancing contestant Tanya van Graan, who came third.
In 2014 he was a judge for the SAFTAs. He also appeared in two popular international serials, Wild at Heart and Black Sails. However, in the meantime, he starred in several blockbuster films: Cryptid, Eternity and Tremors 5: Bloodlines.
Theafter, he toured around the world with the Broadway hit musical Jersey Boys. In which he was one of the leads ‘Nick Massi’. He later received positive critical acclaim and received a nomination for Best Actor in a musical at the Naledi Theatre Awards.
