Early life of Sivenathi Mabuya
Sivenathi Mabuya was born on 26 April 1993 in Cape Town, Western Cape Province in South Africa. She grew up in East London where she was raised by both her parents. She was born in a family of six members including herself, her three siblings and her parents.
Growing up, Sive Mabuya developed passion for acting which was sparked by doing drama at school and church. So, after completing her high school studies, she moved to Johannesburg to pursue her dream of becoming an actres in the year of 2013.

Sive studied public relations management at one of the accredited colleges in South Africa. She never studied anything in arts related studies except that she attended a drama school where she realized she was born to become an actor.
Acting career of Sive Mabuya
Her career began in 2015 when she made R200 bet and enter an amateur acting competition. She won the competition and went on to become an actress, according to Sowetan, but she lost the bet. The competition was the Maqa Movie Competition for finest amateur performers in South Africa, which was sponsored by a washing powder brand. Winning in that competition led to her being cast in a local film called ‘Skorokoro,’ directed by Darrell Roodt and produced by Phoenix Films Productions.

She starred in The Lucky Specials, a feature-length documentary produced by Discovery Learning Alliance and Quizzical Pictures that debunks tuberculosis and explains how it spreads and can be treated, in early 2016. Then, in the middle of the year, she landed a role as Norooi in Ferguson Films Productions’ smash drama series ‘Igazi.’ Sive was cast in the recurring role of Faith in the SABC3 dark comedy-drama Sober Companion in July 2016.
Sive made her first appearance as Angela-Jane Elison, simply AJ, in the SABC3 soapie High Rollers on September 5, 2016, marking her first leading role on television. In 2017, she appeared as a guest star in the e.tv soap opera Scandal! on May 25, she made her first appearance as Xolile Langa playing alongside Hungani Ndlovu. Sive was cast as Akhona in the e.Vod criminal drama Housewives in 2021, after leaving Scandal.
