Nompilo Gwala is a 34-year-old South African actress and former model. She is best known for her starring role as fashion designer Nothando Khumalo in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Inkaba, from 2012-2013. She also starred in Rhythm City before it was terminated as Nandi Ngobese alongside Kealeboga Masango.

Nompilo Gwala was born on the 1st of July 1987 in Pretoria, Gauteng Province in South Africa. She grew up in Pretoria where she was raised by her guardians. When she was 17 years old she saw someone she admired, who is admired by almost everyone in the world, Nelson Mandela.

Nompilo made her acting debut appearance in 2012 on Mzansi Magic’s first telenovela iNkaba playing the role of Nothando Khumalo. According to Nompilo, acting came by chance as she never dreamt of it before. She was too focused on modelling and couldn’t see herself in the acting industry.
Then she went on to bag a lead role in SABC 3’s former soapie, Isidingo in 2013. She played Amuhle, the late Jefferson Sibeko’s mistress, who resurfaced at his funeral. In 2014 she had a starring role in the Mzansi Magic family drama Saints and Sinners. The talented actress was playing Phindile Khumalo in Saints and Sinners. She also did a few films, her first being, My Wife And My Lady. She was cast in a lead role, the Arabic comedy, staring alongside Egyptian actor and comedian Ramez Galal.
