Salamina Mosese is a 38-year-old South African actress, model, producer and television personality. She is best known for playing Ella in Abo Mzala. From April 2006 to June 2007 she played the role of Keketso Chaka in e.tv former soapie Backstage. Then she starred as “Nthabiseng Masilo” in SABC3 7de Laan. Some television viewers came to know Salamina after getting married to the Scandal and Backstage actor Tshepo Howza Mosese in 2008.

Early life of Salamina Mosese

Salamina Mosese was born in Zebediela, one of the villages in Capricorn District Municipality of Limpopo Province, South Africa. She was born on 19 June 1983. She grew up in Zebediela and obtained her primary and secondary school education probably from the village.

Upon the time of Matric completion, she received  a Matric Exemption with distinctions in English, Afrikaans and History. After matric she enrolled at the University of Johannesburg to study Corporate Communications.

She got her start in acting by mistake when she took her brother to auditions and was asked to audition, which she did and landed a part. From 1999 to 2002, she appeared in the SABC1 youth drama series Soul Buddyz. She rose to prominence after taking over Katlego Danke’s role as theatre lecturer Keketso Chaka on the e.tv soapie Backstage from April to June 2007.

She then spent five years as a broadcaster on e.tv’s CRAZe kids’ programming block. In 2007, she hosted the SABC2 gameshow Crazy Games and the SABC1 reality show Top Class. She then won a Top Billing presenter search in 2008 and began hosting the show the following year. She was the face of two Nedbank gameshows on SABC3 and e.tv in the same year of 2008. [ ¹]

In the SABC1 sitcom Abo Mzala, she earned the lead role of Ella, a domestic servant who believes in fairytale love and that her knight in shining armour will arrive any day now. Salamina Mosese got married to Tshepo Howza Mosese who played Lerumo Chabedi in Scandal in 2008 and the couple have two children including Tumelo. The couple met during the shooting of the former e.tv television serial ‘Backstage’. The duo later won the “Inspirational Couple of the year Award” at the I Do Awards.

In 2021 they celebrated their 13th anniversary of their marriage and they both take to social media to appreciate their relationship. Tshepo wrote his message saying;
