He was born and bred in Soweto, Gauteng in South Africa. He is an actor with more than two decades in the entertainment industry and is the owner of Coal Stove pictures.

Wandile Molebatsi was born on 21 March 1991 in Soweto, Gauteng province in South Africa. He was born to his father Bishop Caesar KL Molebatsi of Ebenezer Evangelical Church which is based in Soweto and to his mother who is a social worker for African National Congress. Wandile is a second born to the Molebatsi family of four children.

Growing up, Wandi Molebatsi acted in films and tv shows such on KTV and film of Born free. And was a best friend to Winnie Mandela’s grandson, Zondwa Mandela. As kids they used to go to Mam Winnie’s house in Orlando and we called it parliament.¹²

Wandile started his acting career as a child. He acted on kids television show on KTV in the 90s. When he was five years old, Wandi had a role as Nik Nik on a film called Born free produced in 1996. His other childhood films include Shuba Lodge, The beloved country and Cry.

With two decades of acting experience Wandile Molebatsi’s resume or cv is quite long. He has acted on many popular films and tv shows such as Rhythm City, Soul City, Gauteng Maboneng, Chappie, MNet The Wild and just recently Thula’s Vine. The star had lead role on Skeem as Vista Mkatini and was a Son to Mr Bones on Mr Bones 3. In 2006, he starred in When We Were Black mini-series. From 2011 to 2013, he played the role of a laid-back tracker Blessing Dlamini on The Wild, an M-Net soap opera.

Molebatsi is currently playing Duma on Scandal etv alongside Upile uThixo Bongco. Duma is a son to Mr Mamba (playing by Simo Magwaza), he has got a problem of low self-esteem and would go back to drugs to get an esteem boost. This has caused him to be his father’s enemy as this destroys Mamba’s reputation.

Wandile Molebatsi is in interracial marriage to a white woman by the name of Jessica Jane. His wife Jessica is a fashion designer and is such a best adviser for Wandile. They were married in 2013 and were blessed with two children. Molebatsi said his wife Jessica had a major role in naming their children, their son’s name is Elijah Arona and their daughter’s name is Onalenna Bianca.

Wandile wants his children to experience real love and he will raise his children the way he was raised. He recalled that when Elijah was born, he and his wife had to work overtime to maintain and afford baby supplies.

Molebatsi can be despised when he is acting as a drug addict or a worker in lowly esteem working place. But behind the scene, Molebatsi Wandile owns a Production company called Coal Stove Pictures. The company was formed while he was still studying at Witswaterstand university. Coal Stove Pictures was the winner of the 2007 Business Day – BASA Award for Art Sponsorship by a Small Business and a finalist at the 2008 SAB KickStart Competition.³

So far, Coal Stove Pictures has produced movies like Thula’s Vile ( nominee for Best Achievement in Directing -TV Drama- but lost to iNumber Number), iKani (SABC’s first isiNdebele drama) and Here Me Move.
