It has been six years since Senzo Meyiwa was robbed and murdered and yet no culprit has been arrested. Senzo Meyiwa who was a goal keeper of both national team and Orlando Pirates, and had armband of captaincy for national team during the time of death was robbed and shot to death. The event of his death occurred on 26 October 2014 in Vosloorus at his girlfriend’s house, Kelly Khumalo, after they had an argument.

When Senzo Meyiwa died, the police promised that they won’t rest until justice had been served for Meyiwa but still the culprit(s) who murdered him have not yet been caught. After his death three people were suspected to be involved in his murder. This includes Zamokuhle Mbatha, who was arrested on 31 October and appeared in court, but he was freed on 11 November due to lack of evidence.

Some might have thought Kelly Khumalo, an actress and a singer, was involved in the murder of Senzo but the is no evidence that suggest that. Of which Kelly suffered cyber bullying after Meyiwa’s death been called a killer by some fans. Kelly Khumalo, was also accused by a man who claimed to be the hitman who murdered Meyiwa. The hitman implicated Kelly in Meyiwa’s death but the singer seemed to be less bothered. When contacted she replied by saying, “Thank you for informing me. All the best with your story.”

After all throwing accusations implicating people like Kelly and arresting suspect without evidence did not bring any justice to Meyiwa’s family. Nor did it bring back Meyiwa back to life. Now South Africa is reacting to his death and the ineffectiveness of police investigations in bringing justice to Senzo Meyiwa and his family. His family also showed that they have lost all hope in the South African Police Service, with their spokesperson Siabonga Miya saying, “I don’t believe they have a genuine interest in finding the real killer…”

And other fans went on Twitter to react to his death also.
