The late Menzi Ngubane has been nominated for SAFTA awards.

Menzi Ngubane has been nominated for SAFTA awards shortly after his death which happened last month on the 13th of March. The late actor has been nominated for Best actor in Telenovela for the role of Judas Ngwenya on Isibaya.

He has been nominated alongside Mapula Mofole nominee for Best supporting actress, Bongile Mantsai, and Masasa Mbangeni for Best actor and Best supporting actor.

Ngubane died last month after suffering from stroke. He was 56 years old and he left wife Sikelelwa and two daughters. He had suffered health problems and was rushed to hospital with organ failure in 2012 and underwent a kidney transplant in 2014.

Menzi Ngubane was famously known for his starring role on Generations the legacy as Sibusiso Dlomo from 2003 to 2014. The Generations star acted in numerous telenovelas in South Africa such as Yizo Yizo, Ashes to Ashes, Gold diggers, and Heist. In 2016, Ngubane joined the television series called Isibaya as a strict taxi manager.

Now he has been nominated for SAFTA (South African Film and Television Award) and his supporters are expecting him (even though dead) to collect the award.
