Macdonald Ndou is a 37 years old South African actor. He was born in Vuwani, Thohoyandou, Limpopo Province in South Africa. In 2018 it was reported that he was married but kept it a secret as he didn’t want his life to be public. He is currently living in Benoni, Gauteng Province in South Africa. Before coming to fame Macdonald moved to Johannesburg and worked as a griller at Wimpy for two years. His aim for staying in Johannesburg was to stay close to his dream of becoming a full time actor. But because his phone didn’t ring much he had to return to Limpopo. ³

Education

After returning to Limpopo, he trained to become an actor at the University of Venda. He later studied stage performance at the State Theatre.¹

Macdonald started his acting career in theatres and on radio dramas. He did radio dramas on Phalaphala FM and sharpened his acting skills. In 2008 he made his debut appearance on Muvhango. He was casted as Khakhathi Mulaudzi or KK on Muvhango. KK is a devious man. He is known to be a proud man, KK has never been the kind of man to apologise to anyone, no matter how wrong he is. The star was also featured Joburg’s Market Theatre with Humbulani Tsharani and Distance Past at the State Theatre in Pretoria.

Allegations for extortion and kidnapping

In 2019 Macdonald was arrested by the Hawks for extortion, kidnapping, theft and corruption. He was later released after the Hawks withdrew his charges upon further investigation. The spokesman of the Hawks reassured that the charges were to be reinstated if further investigations show the actor had any involvement in the crime. The accusations against Ndou was; he and his other two cronies were trying to extort R100 000 from a businessman pretending to be police officers. It is claimed the trio pretended to be policemen to receive a bribe from the businessman, who they allegedly believe is illegally dealing diamonds.

After this Muvhango released a statement which shows that they still valued their acting member Mr Ndou. In a statement Muvhango Management said: “Muvhango is aware of the allegations leveled against our cast member, Macdonald Ndou,…We are aware he has been apprehended and waiting court appearance. Currently, we at Muvhango have no inside information regarding Mr Ndou’s case and are waiting for further details from the law enforcement…” ²
