Willard Katsande early career

Known as a midfield work-horse, Willard Katsande began his career playing for local lower division clubs in Zimbabwe such as Frontier Steel (2002–2005), Feruka (2006–2007) and a popular giant killing club from Mutare, called Highway (2007–2009) from where he was recruited to play for Gunners F.C. in Harare for the 2009–10 season.

Katsande and Kaizer Chiefs FC

Willard Katsande joined the Kaizer Chiefs on August 15, 2011, after Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung seen his play during an international friendly match between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Katsande made his debut in the MTN 8 final against Orlando Pirates on 10 September 2011, replacing Tshabalala in the 81st minute. Katsande received five yellow cards in his first 12 league matches with Chiefs. Katsande was the most booked player in the Premier Soccer League and the Nedbank Cup in 2013, receiving ten yellow cards and one red card. In a 4–1 triumph over, Katsande scored a long-range goal after going a few feet off the center line.
