Being a musician is not about going solo when you meant business, but it’s also about featuring other musicians to increase your audiences. This is what the following musicians did not to maximize local targeted audiences but international ones by featuring other international music artists.

Kwesta

Senzo Brikka Vilakazi also known professionally as Kwesta, is a South African rapper and songwriter. Kwesta who is currently signed to his own company (Rap Lyf ) co-founded with Kid X has featured international artist in some of his songs. The Ngudu singer featured American rapper Rick Ross in his 2019 single called “I came, I saw”. Kwesta was once featured by an American artist Rich Homie Qan on his song Run it Up.

Nasty C

Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, age 23, is a South African rapper, song writer and record producer. He is professionally known as Nasty C and well known for releasing “Hell Naw” in 2016. The young artist featured and was also featured by numerous international artist such as King 98, Davido on a remix called “Juice Back”. On June 25, 2020, he released a remix called Zulu in collaboration with DJ Whoo Kid.

AKA

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, well known as AKA, is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and entrepreneur. He grew up in Cape Town, Western Cape. Forbes released a song called Kontrol featuring a South African American hip hop artist Da L.E.S. He also featured a Nigerian “Fela in Versace” featuring Kiddominant which was commercially successful than other singles.

Emtee

Mthembeni Ndevu, age 27, is a South African rapper and hip-hop artist. He is well known for his debut single “Roll Up Re-Up” which he released featuring AKA and a Nigerian music artist, singer, songwriter WizKid.

Cassper Nyovest

Born as Refiloe Maele Phoolo on December 16, 1990 is a South African rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur and record producer. He is professionally referred to as Cassper Nyovest. Nyovest became a well-known musician when he released his singles “Gusheshe” and “Doc Shebeleza”, from the album “Tsholofelo”. The Gusheshe composer collaborated with Casey Veggies (an American rapper and song writer), DJ Drama (an American DJ, song promoter and record executive), Wizkid (Nigerian singer and song writer).

PJ Powers

PJ Powers born as Penelope Jane Dunlop on July 16, 1960, is a South African music artist. She is well known for being an anti-apartheid and activist. The music artist, P J Powers has shared the stage with Eric Clapton, Joan Armatrading, Divine Divas, Lord Richard Attenborough, Richard E. Grant, Sibongile Khumalo, Janet Suzman.

Mariam Makhebha

Zenzile Miriam Makeba (born 4 March 1932 – 9 November 2008) was a South African song writer, singer, civil rights activist, actress, United Goodwill ambassador. She was nick named Mama Africa. In 1991, she released an album with the late Nina Simone (an American song writer, singer, civil right activist) and the late American trumpeter, Dizzy Gillespie. Makeba sang alongside Rhodesian-born musician Dorothy Masuka.

DJ Black coffee

Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, born on 11 March 1976 is a South African DJ, record producer, singer, and songwriter. He is well known by his stage name DJ Black coffee. He has began his work around 1994 and by far has performed alongside recognized DJs such as Little Louie Vega, Alix Alvarez, Frank Roger, Charles Webster, DJ Spinna and Osunlade. He collaborated with the America’s very own Usher, David Guetta, Drake and Mi Casa.
