Stevel, who went to Titchfield High School, was 16 years old when he was named Mr. Titchfield in 2000. He engaged in classes at the TVI Actors Studio in Los Angeles and the New York Film Academy. where he began and completed his training in acting and movies.

His career began when he was still young. At the age of 16, he was crowned Mr Titchfield. This was the beginning of his career as a model. He went to New York for his first gig as a model and came to model in South Africa as well. Additionally, Stevel also modelled in Asia, Europe, North America and Africa.

After being in different countries he chose to stay in South Africa. In South Africa he signed to Ice Model Management. Commercially, he became part of brands as Revlon (featuring Halle Berry and Eva Mendes), Coca Cola, KFC, Nescafé, Standard Bank, Nashua Mobile and the South African Broadcasting Corporation.
