Amo Chidi was born in South Africa on the 5th of February 1990. She was raised by her parents who taught her the basics of real life moral conducts. Amo also grew up in christian church which also made her who she is. She is always with her bible and believes it is her source of motivation where she stands her ground.

Amo is particularly well-known for her role as a young child in the globally acclaimed musical The African Mama’s, which she joined in August 2010 for a woman’s month performance at the Durban Playhouse Theatre. She obtained a starring part in late 2012, which elevated her to prominence. Reneilwe, Mamokete’s niece and a 16-year-old Mampho’s (played by Itumeleng Bokaba) best friend, was to play Reneilwe in the e.tv soap opera Rhythm City.
