Early life of Mothusi Magano

He was born on March 26, 1979 in the South African town of Phokeng, which is just outside of Rustenburg. When he was five years old, his family relocated to Mafikeng.

He was raised in Phokeng, Rustenburg, and when he was five years old, his family moved to Mafikeng. He attended Rustenburg’s elementary and secondary schools before continuing his education there at Wits University, where it’s thought he pursued a BA in Dramatic Arts. [1]

Career of Mothusi

He played Charles “Mingus” Khathi in the SABC3 drama series The Lab in 2006. He continued to perform the part on the hit television programme until 2009.

He made his acting debut in the pantomime A Dragon For Dinner at the Mmabana Cultural Centre. He began attending the Wits School of Dramatic Art in 1998. He tried out for every play at Wits during his first year of studies and was given the chance to perform in two of them, Death and the Maiden and Little Shop of Horrors. He received an invitation to perform the part of “Harry Lime” in one of his friends’ productions of The Third Man in 2003. He then made his debut in the movie Gums and Noses. Hotel Rwanda, a well-known movie, and Tsotsi, an Oscar winner, came next.

He received a SAFTA nomination in 2019 for his performance as “Phaks” in the television series Emonyeni: Nsanguluko. He joined the Skeem Saam cast in the same year. [2]
