Tshiamo Molobi, born 17 May 2003 and the only child to single mother Ida Molobi; was brought up in Fourways Johannesburg. He was the only child to his mother. Tshiamo says he knew acting was his dream from the age of 3, driving inspiration from other then child actors like Junior Singo. He gives credit to all the movies he would watch and feel inspired to act as a child. In an interview he stresses the importance of supportive parents. His mother who’s name is Ida Molobi, showed him a lot of support by taking him to acting agencies when he told her about his ambitions.

Career beginnings and Filmography

Molobi first gained public appearance from food commercials like the McDonald’s Gomma gomma, Coca Cola and Dstv ads. However, his acting career on the screens only began in 2014 when he was featured in the film Pad na jou hart (afrikaans for: Road to yout heart) where he played Lucky. The film was co-written by Ivan Botha and Donnalee Roberts. It had actors like Kevin Smith who plays Frank Xavier on SABC 3’s Isidingo.

A year later in 2015 he played a bigger role in MTV base’s youth drama series MTV shuga in which he was playing Ipeleng’s (Thuso Mbedu) unruly brother. This was in season 5 of the series. In 2016 he appeared in another film project called Happiness is a four letter word written by Thabang Moleya. Which had big stars like Khanyi Mbau, Reenate Stuurman, Mmabatho Montsho and Emmanuel Castis.

Playing Lefa on Rhythm City

In 2019 he appeared on the award winning soap opera Rhythm City. Molobi was playing the role of Lefa on Rhythm City as the younger brother of Reneilwe (Amo Chidi) and Kea (Kamogelo Molatlhoe). His first appearance was on 27 February 2029. In an interview he revealed that this role was more natural to him and he resonated more with it than the others. Since it matches his everyday life and psyche.

Appearing on The Queen and Diep City

The very same year in October, he appeared on Mzansi Magic’s soap opera, The Queen; in which he played the role of Tshepo. This was on episode 59 of the soapie’s 4th Season. Then early this year he was cast on Diep City as Nox’s younger brother Sibusiso. The series was premiered on the 21st of April 2021. Moreover, He also appeared in Rockville as Delani.

Future dreams and Lifestyle

The rising star plans to get a qualification in cinematography and directing after finishing school. He has never worked behind the scenes before but he does believe that he can do a lot and he loves being on set. Moreover, he hopes to be on Netflix very soon. In his own words he said: “Production doesn’t matter I just want to be on Netflix, it’s a great platform” .Tshiamo Molobi is a very fashionable and humble young man. As can be seen from his facebook Photos. He also enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing sports and gaming when he’s not on set or between scenes.

He enjoys his roles both on the Queen and Rhythm City. However, he says that he resonates more with Lefa than Tshepo. Though he enjoys both roles, Lefa feels more natural to him since he grew up in the suburbs. He also mentions that understanding the emotional intelligence of both roles is what makes it all worth while and fun.

He has a reported networth of $30 000.00 which is like R406 700.00. However, Tshiamo Molobi’s Social media presence is somewhat sketchy. He has an instagram account under the username: @tshiamo_molobi_lefa with no profile photo and only one picture of him. It is the only account with his name and picture with the biggest amount of following.

However, his facebook presence is of better applause.His facebook page goes by the name Tshiamo Molobi and has not been verified yet. But, it has a large following and a convincing profiling showing it is not a fan page. It seems he’s not much into social media, just like his Rhythm City colleague Kealeboga Masango known as Zinhle who said she will only run an instagram account of her own when she’s at the legal age.
