Danai Jekesai Gurira, born 14 February 1978, is a Zimbabwean born actress and play writer. She is well known for acting on “Black panther” as Okoye and “The Walking dead” series as Michonne. Danai was born in Grinnell, Iowa, United States to Josephine Gurira and Roger Gurira. Her parents had moved to USA from Southern Rhodesia in 1963 but later moved back to Zimbabwe (formerly known as Southern Rhodesia) in 1983.

The Black Panther actor is well known for acting as Michonne (Starring) on the AMC horror drama series “The Walking Dead” (2012 – 2020), for playing Okoye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Oliver Mtukudzi, born 22 September 1952 and died on 23 January 2019, was a Zimbabwean Jazz Musician, businessman and Human rights activist. Mtukudzi also referred to as Tuku was considered the first Zimbabwean artist to have most Zimbabwe and international recognition of all time.

Tuku was born in Salisbury (now Harare) in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and grew up in high field. The late jazz musician started his music with a homemade guitar and began live performances in 1977 featuring well known music icon like Thomas Mapfumo and others. As a result of his husky voice and distinctive jazz music, Tuku gained recognition across Africa and worldwide.

Mukudzei Mukombe, born 4 July 1987, is well-known by his stage name Jah Prayzah or Musoja (soldier). Jah Prayzah is a well-known Zimbabwean contemporary musician and a leader of Third generation band. His name Jah Prayzah comes from his Shona name Mukudzei meaning Praise Him (God).

Jah Prayzah was born in Uzumba, Zimbabwe. He grew up with interest in music, he liked singing in church and at school assemblies. He also fed his desire for music by playing mbira with his school teacher. He released his first commercial album in 2007 and gained national recognition.

He started getting international recognition when he collaborated with a Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz on a song called Watora Mari. This song reached more than one million viewers on YouTube. On 02 November 2018, he released an album called Mukombe in which he featured most African artists such as Patoranking and Sauti Sol. Mukombe has had many international shows in Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, China and South Africa. In 2019, Mukombe was nominated for the Best Male Artist in Southern Africa in the All Africa Music Awards

Charmaine Shamiso Mpambiro, born 13 July 1994, is a Zimbabwean singer for Amapiano music. She is well known as Sha Sha in South Africa where she is based. Sha Sha was born in Mutare, Zimbabwe, raised by her aunt after her parents divorced. She grew up playing piano and singing in Choir.

With the help of Zimbabwean musicians such as Brian Soko and Audius Mtawarira, she gained national popularity. She went on to gain international popularity when she collaborated with South African Rouge and Priddy Ugly who featured her on their music. Sha Sha worked with DJ Maphorisa who signed her to his record label in 2018. She became very popular to Zimbabwean and South African nationals when she released Blossom in 2019. She even won 2020 BET awards in South Africa.

Ngonidzashe Dondo, 15 January 1998, is a Zimbabwean born artist and hip hop singer who is based in South Africa. He is well known by his stage name King98. King98 become popular around Africa after collaborating with other African Musicians like Nasty C of South Africa and Davido of Nigeria. This year he released a song called Kachiri where he featured Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz. The music video for song got more than one million views on YouTube within a week.
