Prince Grootboom was born in Zwide, a township in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth). He grew up in a musical family, which nurtured his early passion for the arts. At the same time, he maintained a reserved and private personality as a child.
Before pursuing the arts, he actively played cricket and initially believed he would follow a professional sports career. However, at the age of 12, he discovered his passion for dance after watching Michael Jackson perform Smooth Criminal. In addition, Los Angeles street dancers Tight Eyez and Big Mijo influenced his early development and helped him become more confident.

After finishing school, Prince Grootboom chose not to attend university immediately. Instead, he pursued a professional career in the arts. He built his technical skills through practical workshops and earned certifications in professional dance, stunt performance, and acting.
