Career information
Maema’s professional football career began as a 22-year-old barely four years ago. Using his directness and ingenuity to defeat opponents and generate scoring chances, the talented left-footed attacking midfielder had a fantastic season with his local team Phunya Sele Sele in 2020/21.

First goal at Sundowns
Neo Maema scored a spectacular goal that earned him a standing ovation from veterans Themba Zwane and Denis Onyango. The Brazilians defeated Golden Arrown 3-0 (4-1 on aggregate) in the MTN 8 semi-final second leg on Tuesday evening, advancing to the final for the first time in five years.
