She is most recognised for her portrayal as Itumeleng in the Mzansi Magic drama The River, in which she plays a feisty young rebel who refuses to be hushed and roll over when her family and community are victims of greed and excess.

Early life of Larona Moagi
She was born on the 19th of March 1997 in Protea North, Soweto in Gauteng Province in South Africa. Larona loved acting from early childhood and she was even in the drama society in high school. She saw that she had talent in acting when she played a lead role in a high school play. Her second love in high school was law meaning she wanted to be in justice system as a lawyer.

Larona attended her primary and high school in Proteas North. After that she did her BA in Law at the University of Witswaterstrand in Gauteng Province.
“When it came time to start varsity, I decided to pursue a BA in law while continuing to take acting lessons and auditions to keep the flame alive,” said Larona.

While she auditioned for the sake of it and to keep her acting desire, Larona Moagi landed a role on The River in 2018. She made her debut appearance in The River on 29 January 2018 playing the role of Itumeleng Mokoena, a feisty young rebel who refuses to be hushed and roll over when her family and community are victims of greed and excess.

In 2019 she was nominated for as one of Mzansi’s Rising Star’s at the Dstv MVCA. The results were anounced in March 2020 and she did not win but she was really grateful for the nominations since she was just a new comer, such recognition she didn’t expect it.
In the beginning of 2021, her role on The River was terminated three years after her debut appearance in The River. Her character of Itumeleng was killed by Lindiwe Dlamini Dikana (played by Sindi Dlathu) who was her mother on the set.

Tumi has experienced sorrow as well as joy, marrying many times, and Larona believes that an actor must delve deep inside themselves to convey those feelings. For her first wedding, she got to wear a Gert Johan Coetzee gown, which she called a “wonderful event.”
