Early life of Hope Mbhele

She grew up in a small seaside village of Umthwalume, Port Shepstone in Kwa-Zulu Natal province in South Africa. She was born in family of four and she is the eldest and the only daughter of her parents. Growing up in Umthwalume, Mbhele was a religious and cultural village girl who used to attend Royal Reed dance.

“I used to attend the Royal Reed dance and I am a religion-orientated and a cultural girl so playing my role has made tapping into my role a bit easier.” she said in a Sundayworld publication.

Education of Hope Mbhele

Mbhele attended her primary at Hibberdene Academy from 2003 to 2013. After that she enrolled for secondary school in authorized local school of Marburg in Port ShepStone. Then after that she obtained her basic education which includes matric and enrolled at Rose bank College.

She studied business therefore she graduated with a Business Degree. She did business only because she is from an entrepreneurial family thus it resonated with her. When she wanted to realize her acting dream, she went on to study drama to have solid ground in the entertainment industry.

Career of Hope Mbhele

She made her debut in the acting industry in 2016 when she turned 20. Her acting debut was on Uzalo where she portrayed an extra character. This was followed by lot of fruitless auditions but she never gave up. So, after those series of auditions she landed a lead role on a Showmax movie titled Goodbye Gogo.

In 2021 she landed another lead role in television drama. This time it was on Mzansi Magic drama series Umkhokha. On Umkhokha she played the role of MaBusi, a recently qualified medical doctor and is now expected to marry Siphamandla (by Nay Maps) for the sake of the church.
