Albert “Ibokwe” Khoza is a South African actor, performance artist, dancer, and flamboyant sangoma. He was born on August 23, 1987. His  in the drama series Blood Psalms is what made him most famous. Ibokwe claims that his new position involves informing people about the distinction between isangoma and igedla. In the series Smoke and Mirrors, he portrays Ngcuka. Lerato Matolodi, Musa Zwane, and Oupa Sibeko are among the people he has worked with.

Blood Psalms is a television series in which Ibokwe portrays Ma Dlamini. Despite having many secrets, his persona serves as Princess Zazi’s nanny. The persona has influence within the Akachi kingdom. His character has become more prominent in the local version of Game of Thrones in South Africa. MaDlamini is a member of The House of Akachi and guardians of Princess Zazi. [1]

In his first TV role for the Blood Psalms series, Khoza created history. As the first male to portray a cis-female character on a South African major series, he broke the gender barrier. It is the first time in the nation that a man portrays a female character without the gender switch being explicitly stated in the plot. He was⁷ happy to return in December 2020 because he also performs in the theatre. On December 1 and 2, Ibokwe presented The Red Femicycle over two nights at the Soweto Theatre in Soweto. He stopped acting in plays since they didn’t fit with his field of work.

After finishing his studies, he performed abroad because the local theatres rejected his work. He stopped performing and relocated to warehouses and galleries. Around 2017 or 2018, Albert produced The Red Femicycle. It served as a commentary on global and South African events. Outside of South Africa, he performs the majority of the time. Because of those he dubbed gatekeepers, who didn’t believe his work belonged in a theatre, Ibokwe had taken his work out of theatres. [2]
