Faith Nelisiwe Sibiya is a 29 years old South African born actress, songwriter, singer and dancer. She is best known for her popular role on the new etv drama series Durban Gen as Dr Mbali Mthethwa. Nelisiwe was born on 13th September 1992. She was born and raised in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal, she is currently living in Randburg.

 Unlike other celebrities, Nelisiwe did not have a fancy childhood, she earned everything she has today. She confessed how she grew up with an aunt who was abusive and always reminded her and her mother about their poor life.

Education

The Durban Gen star attended M.O.M Sebone Secondary School. She obtained her matric in 2010. In 2014, Faith Nelisiwe Sibiya graduated from Ekurhuleni East College Springs with (an unspecified level of) degree in Business and Marketing Management. Then in 2017 she finished her studies in Musical Theatre from Tshwane University of Technology.

Career

Faith Nelisiwe Sibiya started her career in the entertainment industry as a musician (Song writer and singer). Her music career is based on Maskandi music. She later shot to fame when she became a powerful voice behind on the sound track of Msanzi Magic’s Lockdown. The star later gained a supporting role on the same series drama.

Faith’s emotional hit song “Mama ka Bafana” which is also the theme song for Mzansi Magic’s female prison drama series was recorded two days after burying her mother.

In 2020, Faith Nelisiwe Sibiya begged a leading role on etv new medical drama series called Durban Gen as a main protagonist. On the show, Nelisiwe is acting as Dr Mbali Mthethwa, a new Medical doctor at Durban General Hospital, who moved into town from rural areas.

Her love for Tradition

The multi-talented star’s love for tradition shows how good she was raised from her village. Nelisiwe love to wear traditional clothes and to eat traditional food. The actress said she celebrate her tradition every day and her favourite traditional meal is Ubhontsisi obrown nophutu (Brown beans and pap).
