Vele Manenje, born on 11 March 1988 (age – 33), is a South African actress and television presenter well known for her starring role as Sonto on SABC1 sitcom Single Galz. In 2021 she joined two dramas Skeem Saam as Evelyn and Diep City as Ausi Momo ( a Venda woman who knows all languages).

Vele Manenje was born on 11 March 1988 in Venda, Limpopo Province in South Africa. She was raised in Tembisa, Johannesburg where she attended public schools and learned all South African official languages and to speak them fluently.
Vele from a Royal Family of the ‘Manenzhe’s people, she had a desire to pursue arts from a young age. And growing up, she showed talents in singing, dancing and acting, she also enjoys making jewellery and candles during her spare time. ¹

Acting career of Manenje
Vele appeared on eKasi: Our Stories, Silent Witness, A Place Called Home and Single Guys – the prequel series to Single Galz. On Single Galz SABC 1 sitcom she had a starring role as Sonto, a 20-something single girl making all the wrong moves in the world of relationships.
She also played the role of Shandu on the Mzansi Magic telenovela Ring of Lies, which earned her a 2019 SAFTA award for Best Supporting Actress in a Telenovela.
Vele was also a presenter on SABC2’s Rivoningo and SABC1’s Siyakholwa. In 2016 she received a SAFTA nomination for Best TV Presenter for Siyakholwa. The star has appeared on theatre productions such as How I Learned to Drive, Black Bling, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors and Hotel Paradise.
Then from 2015 to 2017 she played the recurring role of Mrs “Bat” Batshweneng on the SABC2 drama series Mamello. She also hosted Mzansi Magic reality show Our Perfect Wedding. And in 2021 she joined Skeem Saam as Evelyn and she is playing Ausi Momo on Diep City, a Venda woman who knows all languages. ²
