Swelihle Luthuli who was born on 11 November 1996, is a 25-year-old South African actor and Voice Artist. He is best known for playing Ntsika on Show – Max telenovela The Wife which is based on Dudu Busani-Dube’s bestselling novel Hlomu the Wife.

Where and when was Swelihle Luthuli born?
Swelihle Ralph Luthuli was born on 11 November 1996 in a small town of Adams Mission, Durban in KwaZulu Natal Province in South Africa. This is where he grew up and attended his primary school and High school and eventually obtained his matric. Growing up Swelihle never dreamt of becoming an actor or joining entertainment industry but today he is an actor. [ ¹]

Swelihle heard of eHostela auditions and also that the requirements to join the auditions was your presence and your aspiration to act. So Lihle joined the auditions and he landed a role on eHostela and that marked the beginning of his career.

Acting career of Swelihle Luthuli
Swelihle made his acting debut in 2019 on Mzansi Magic drama eHostela playing the role of Juba. The drama was produced by Stained Glass Productions and directed by Mthunzi Dubazana and Thuli Zuma.
The following year in 2020 he landed another role on international screens as General Justice Gizenga Mpanza on London Recruits: The Secret War Against Apartheid starred by Bethany Bill and Andy Burse. The film as its subtitle suggests, was based on The story of the Londoners recruited to be freedom fighters during the South African apartheid during the 1960s. [ ²]
In 2021 he landed the role of playing Ntsika on Showmax telenovela The Wife playing alongside Ishmauel Songo and Thulani Shange. The telenovela was on based on Dudu Busani-Dube’s bestselling novel Hlomu the Wife and is starred by Mbalenhle Mavimbela as Hlomu and Bonko Khoza as her husband.
His role on The Wife
On The Wife Swelihle Ralph plays Ntsika alongside Ishmauel Songo. These younger brothers are often sent on errands by Nkosana and the older Zulu clan, who also do their best to protect their younger siblings from the criminal life that they have taken up for reasons as yet unrevealed to viewers.
Inevitably, The Youth Squad gets involved in the cash-in-transit heists that Nkosana, Nqoba, Mqhele, Qhawe and Sambulo have been pulling off, with disastrous consequences as they come under the beady eye of the law.
