Siyabonga Xaba was born in 1999 on the 25th of January in New Castle, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. However, his family moved to Johannesburg at some point in his life. And, he had to finish his high school in Johannesburg.

So, he got his matric certification from Parktown Boys High. Where he matriculated in 2017. After graduating at the school, not much is known about his tertiary education. However, we do know that he started acting as a young boy. Appearing in dramas like 4play: Sex Tips for Girls.

However, Xaba isn’t only an actor but also a director and producer. And, with up to 10 years plus of on-screen experience. He couldn’t be anymore perfect a candidate.

When Xaba left Gomora, a lot of his fans were shocked. So, some independent news media outlets sat down with him to hear what really went down. And according Siyabonga Xaba, he left the drama series because he was going behind the scenes.

He said that directing was becoming a fuming passion within him. And, the bug had bit him in 2017. Moreover, 2017, he had directed a feature film. Which left a long lasting impression on him about the joy behind directing. However, no one as of yet knows which play he went on to direct. Moreover, he did say he was going to miss his on-screen mother Katlego Danke. Because she was fun and professional.

Lungelwa Hela, who is the producer of the popular telenovela. Described Xaba as a “perfectionist, a director, a writer, and one of the best actors she’s ever worked with in a tweet. Moreover, the actor wrote, produced, and directed a film called Carrots. Which was released in April of 2020. It started two of his co-stars in Gomora. Namely, Ama Qamata and Siphesihle Ndaba. [ ¹]

In 2009, he was cast in the ETV drama Foreplay Sex Tips for Girls. Which launched his career. Moreover, in the same year, he appeared in Season 5 of the children’s edutainment drama Soul Buddyz.

He was cast in the international series Strike Back season 2. Aswell as project Dawn and Book of Negroes after having two local credits. A slew of South African and international TV shows and films followed. He was most recently cast in the hit telenovela Gomora. The feature film Back of the Moon, and the international TV show The Professionals.
