While much of Bokang Phelane’s career is known to a good deal. Her personal is actually much more cryptic. As a result, not even her birth date or birth year is known. However, certain information suggests she may be in her middle to late 20s. While we don’t know much. We do know that she was born and raised in Maseru, Lesotho. [1]

Education of Bokang Phelane

Bokang was born and raised in Maseru, Lesotho, where she graduated from Machabeng International College and Lesotho High School before enrolling at Monash University South Africa to pursue a BA in Psychology. She relocated to Qatar in 2013 and worked in the aviation industry.

She participated in the Advanced Actors Program at the Johannesburg-based Indigo View Academy in 2015, where she studied under actor-director Steven Feinstein. [2]

Her first credited on-screen appearance was in Season 4, Episode 1 of the SABC3 drama series Hard Copy, where she played the recurring role of Khetiwe (which aired on 3 October, 2016).

She appeared in an episode of the SABC1 soap opera Generations: The Legacy the very next day, and less than three weeks later, she had her third appearance on television when she started playing the recurring character of Celia in the SABC1 drama series Tempy Pushas. She made her debut in Season 3, Episode 2 of that show (which aired on 21 October, 2016).

Breakthroughs from 2017- present

Bokang’s breakthrough year was 2017. She appeared in four television shows, as well as the musical film She is King, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

She started playing the tough investigative journalist Noxolo on the SABC3 soap opera Isidingo later in July, which is another recurring role for her. On July 31, she made her first appearance on the program.

2018 saw Bokang land a lead part in “uMngoma,” the second episode of the horror miniseries Emoyeni on SABC1. The episode is about Bonga, a fame-obsessed fashionista who runs away from a calling and also features Thabo Rametsi and Simpho Mathenjwa.
