Actress and model Lerato Kganyago deactivates her X/twitter account after backlash from fans because she was supporting Chichi Vanessa, a Nigerian South-African model. This was after Lerato Kganyago went live and talked about having “Morals & Ethics” that the public believes that she lacks.
On her live video with Somizi, Lerato who is part of Miss South Africa organization, emphasized that the pageant is honest and verified that Chichi Vanessa is a South African despite her Nigerian roots. She also said if the Miss SA organization was dishonest, she would have removed herself from it because she can’t be part of a dishonest organization.
“If it was dishonest from the get-go, I would have removed myself to protect my reputation,” said Kganyago in an Instagram interview with Somizi. “I would have removed myself from the pageant…Mina I am all about morals, ethics and principles” she added.
She said Chichi met all the requirements to be part of the program so what are we still fighting for. But Mzansi is already rallying behind cancelling Chichi, and they could not be convinced by what Lerato was saying. Some went on to say Chichi is prouder to be Nigerian than South African and South Africans cannot even pronounce her name.
Unfortunately, Lerato couldn’t bear the backlash on social media and wanted to breathe a bit, so she deactivated her Twitter/X account. We do not know if she will return, probably she will activate her account when the Chichi Vanessa storm is over.
