Early life of DJ Karri
Karabo Success Mokgara was born in Hammanskraal, Pretoria North in South Africa on 13 March 1986. He started his education at Mmamotse Primary School and finished high school at President Mangoepe Technical High School.
Both his parents were present during his childhood. His mother Malebo gave him the name Karri when he was young and Karabo adopted the name as his professional music name. He also traveled alongside most local DJs and famous ones learning a lot about the industry and how things are done.

His career started almost two decades ago in 2004 when he got a job as a DJ at Carousel Casino north of Hammanskraal. Later, he became a resident DJ at Pats Pub in Hammanskraal, where he obtained a better offer from Chanel M nightclub, the most popular venue in town. After that he became a resident DJ for the very same club, Chanel M nightclub.
In 2012, DJ Karri began mastering music as a producer but things didn’t go as planned. He almost left the music industry after series of discouragements. However in 2020, he collaborated with BL Zero on the song “The Journey,” which was warmly received by South African radio stations and the charts. [1]
In 2021, he bounced back and released a hit single called 012 Lifestyle ft. Prime de 1st, Kamo, the vocalist, and BL Zero which introduced him to the world. He later released an EP titled I am Brave Boy, featuring BL Zero, Violet Minis, Mantjingilane, K- Sugar, and Pitso De Groove, among others.
