Anele Zondo was born on 24 September 1994 in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal where she also grew up as the youngest of four daughters. She grew up in an education-focused household, with both parents working as educators—her mother as a teacher and her father as a school principal. She developed interest in entertainment in high school and by grade 12 she decided to follow that path.

After completing her matric, she pursued her passion for media by enrolling at Boston Media House, where she obtained a Diploma in Media Studies. She further sharpened her skills by completing two television presenting certifications, laying a strong foundation for her future career in broadcasting. [1]


Acting Career of Anele Zondo

Anele began her professional journey in acting, quickly gaining recognition for her on-screen presence.

She made her television debut with a role in the Mzansi Magic drama It’s Complicated in 2016. Her breakthrough came when she portrayed Faith in the popular 1Magic soapie The River (2018–2019), a role that remains one of her most memorable performances.

She also made a cameo appearance in Saints and Sinners and took on a lead role in the action film Gereza, showcasing her versatility as an actress. [2]
