She is the youngest of nine children—six brothers and two sisters—and was born on June 10. Her mother is a retired nurse, and when she was 15, her father was killed in an accident. And as a result of her father’s demise, she had o grow up with a single mother. However, her mother did her very best to make sure she was fed and dressed.

She made her stage debut in the stage adaptation of A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, directed by Maishe Maponya.
