Gugulethu Mzobe was born in 1990 in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. She developed interest for acting at the age of 11. Though Gugu is from township, she is also full of respect for her elders. After metric, Gugulethu went on to attend University of the Witswaterstand and she obtained a certificate in Performance Art at K-Cap. The Imbewu star is the writter of the book called Slices of France and South Africa.

Gugulethu appeared on theatre plays of K – Cap such as Chief Albert, Luthuli Musical, Bayede Shaka, Madam President, How long and John Makathini. The star later joined Imbewu the seed as Nomusa, who is a waitress at Emsamo.
